Abstract
In order to establish the cultural practices of Album grayi REGEL, effects of seeding dates(Aug. 15, Sept. 15 and Oct. 15) with different seed bulbs (mother bulb, bulblet and bulbil) on the growth and yield were studied in 1979 to 1980.
Earlier seeding shortened the days for Leaf-emergence. Among the seed bulbs, mother bulb gave rise to the earliest leaf-emergence while bulbil showed over-wintering emergence.
Growths including plant height, number of leaves, number of roots, root length, bulb diameter and bulb length appeared to be considerably vigorous in early seeding. Growth by mother bulb seeding was the most vigorous, which followed by bulblet and bulbil. Bulbil showed severely delayed growth.
The number of new bulblets was increased by early seeding, too. Mother bulb seeding was more effective than the bulblet in the formation ~f new bulblets while those from bulbil seeding were formed in the middle of May after over-wintering.
The earlier the seed bulbs were sown, the heavier the plant fresh weights were. Mother bulb seeding resulted in the heaviest planes, which followed by bulblet and bulbil seeding.
